FRUIT CAKE

72 sins per cake - cut into 36 slices - 2 sins per slice

Ingredients:

 

1lb Mixed Fruit

8 oz Self raising flour

1 tsp Mixed spices

2 tsp Baking powder

pinch of salt

1 egg

1/2 oz Canderel or similar

 

 

Method:

 

Cover mixed fruit with cold tea and let soak overnight if possible.

Leave the tea in when you are making the cake.

Mix in all other ingredients.

Pour into 2lb cake tin or similar.

Cook for 1 1/2 hours in oven on gas mark 2 1/2 160c.

If you have a fan oven cook for 1 1/2 hours on 140c.

 

An ordinary Fruit Cake is 10 sins for a 2oz slice, what a saving!
